Clarinetlandia is a full-day celebration of the clarinet hosted by Metropolitan Youth Symphony. From 9am to 9pm, enjoy clinics, masterclasses, a community clarinet choir, and hands-on sessions with guest artists Andrew Brown (Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra), James Shields (Artistic Director, Chatter PDX), Emily Marlow (National Ballet of Canada Orchestra), Jackie Glazier (University of Arizona), Louis DeMartino (Principal Clarinet, Hawaiʻi Symphony Orchestra), Jennifer Crockett (Clarinetist and Executive Director, Liberty Theatre), and mouthpiece maker Mike Dassios (Dassios Music). The day culminates in a clarinet-centered performance by our guest artists — in conjunction with our Mozart to Modern festival! — a vibrant capstone to a gathering devoted to craft, community, and shared musical curiosity.
